Hi Ty. What a wonderful update! You are kicking ass, and I am so proud of you putting forth your best each day! I have to share a crazy story with you…
Today, I went to church for the first time in many years. I went to support Drew at the church he has been attending for about 6 months. He was recently baptized and loves God and how He works in his life each day. Drew found God a couple of years ago due to some tough life things he was working through. I have seen Drew’s life change for the positive in so many ways since he accepted Jesus into his life. Of all the days, of all the pastors, of all the sermons that I could have heard, today was the day my mouth hit the floor when I heard Pastor Rory sharing an incredible story from a couple months ago about a La Verne Little League Coach who shared a story about his new journey of cancer and asking for prayer. Not connecting the dots at all (CLL is forever how I will remember you most), he continued talking and said that this coach has jaw cancer and will be using some of his leg to help rebuild his jaw. Drew and I looked at each other at the same time, stunned, that we were listening to YOUR story. Drew immediately said, “this is God mom; you were meant to be here today.” I couldn’t have agreed more. It was a sermon about Joy. That in order to find Joy, we will go through the inevitable, Pain. You are certainly going through a season of so much. My prayer for you is that you continue to see and find all the Joy you can during this difficult season. I can tell from the updates, that you are doing that 🙂 The Sermon is on YouTube under the churches name One and All Pastor Rory. I’d link it but I don’t know how…lol! Keep on keepin’ Ty. Hi TC. You don’t know me. I came to the Cancer Support group at Real Life for a short time. In the beginning my issues were not too serious and going to the group only made me depressed. I preferred to live in the world of denial. My situation was such that I could do that. Generally, it was just the anxiety of dealing with tests to see if nodules were still stable. Then my lymphoma, that was never supposed to do anything, decided to do something. No need to go into that. Since all this has happened to me my greatest joy has been to pray for others who find themselves walking this journey. I just want you to know that there is one more person praying very intensely every day for you.
