The head oncologist told TC and Liza he removed 38 lymph nodes that were in and around the “concentrated” area of the cancer. He felt that 3 of those lymph nodes were compromised but wanted to completely remove anything close to the cancer. The pathology returned today and only 2 lymph nodes had Cancer!!! That’s right, only 2!
He will begin radiation in about 6 weeks.
One drain in his neck area and the wound surge pump vac on his leg was removed today. And the best news of all………….He was discharged today, and he and Liza are now home!!
The change of scenery comes with the ability to have more contact with people, but with some strict rules. Phone calls are now welcome as are texts. Visitors, helpers, people bearing food and gifts, are all welcome as long as they have contacted Liza via text and set up an appointment. Please, no uninvited guests at this point.
